Graceless People, Compassionate God - The Book of Jonah

Each book of the Bible or series that we preach at Restoration Church, we provide a series overview for our people. In light of this season of no gatherings, here is your series overview of the book of Jonah.

The specific date is unknown. We do know that Jonah was prophesying during the reign of Jeroboam II. So he likely prophesied between 785-775.

While it is uncertain who the intended audience is, it is clear that the writer wanted to educate and not entertain.

This is a unique book unlike the other Prophets. Jonah is a narrative story about Jonah and God rather than a collection of oracles and prophecies
