“You yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” (1 Peter 2:5) This verse has meant so much to me over the years, but I could have never imagined how the Lord would bring it to life in Adel over the last 5+ years.
1 Peter 2:5 has been our prayer from the beginning; we’ve asked the Lord boldly to restore lives and build His church. What is amazing about this is that only the Lord knew what we would look like in September 2023 as we prepare to celebrate our 4th Plantiversary. Only the Lord knew what facility we would be meeting in. Only the Lord knew what tragedy we would experience. Only the Lord knew ____________. Whatever we put in the blank, the Lord knew.
As thankful as I am about where the Lord has us, I don’t want to stop. I love where we’re at, and I love where we’re headed. I believe the Lord is going to do abundantly great things in the next year and beyond. I believe that we have only experienced the beginning of what God is doing. He is building His church!!!
As we celebrate another year and look towards the next, let me challenge us together. Let’s be bold to proclaim the gospel this year. Let’s ask the Lord to do great things this year. Let’s commit to praying for those who are far from God and watch the Lord do a great work in their life!
